It’s been a rainy week in Seattle that is making me daydream of moving to the desert. Maybe I could do what retired people do when they move to Boca Raton for the winter but instead I move to the desert during rainy season in Seattle and then move back once the weather picks up. Is that a thing? I’ll make it a thing.

My favorite things on the internet:

  1. Can I go to all these places? Take a leave of absence from work and just travel the globe. I bet they are not on your bucket list!
  2. Loving this small house in Ballard, right here in Seattle.
  3. Nice-looking and affordable pillow covers for all your pillow needs.
  4. Wouldn’t these stools be super soft under your feet while Netflix-bingeing?
  5. Love Poppy Talk’s free botanical prints download. Thank you for putting this out there for us.

Have a great weekend! We will probably go skiing and then sleep in on Sunday.

Happy Friday! I’m very excited it’s finally the end of the week and I can sleep in tomorrow, no alarms necessary.

Some of my favorite things from the inter-webzzzzz this week:

  1. How cute is this Ikea rocker hack? Sarah Sherman Samuel sure makes DIY look easy!
  2. Obsessing over this 15 year-old’s Instagram account. He is Munich-based and it makes me daydream of Europe.
  3. I have a very big black thumb and the only plants I can keep alive are fake ones. I’m going to adopt these tips, especially because I am eyeing some snake plants for my place.
  4. Thinking of visiting these cafés soon.
  5. Target has been stepping up its game recently when it comes to home decor. Loving this lounger + ottoman set (I think intended for outdoors?) and picturing it in a cozy reading nook by a window.

Have a happy weekend! Days are getting longer here, anticipating the arrival of Spring.

After 4+ years, Adele has finally released a new single, and a new album is coming out next month! Her previous album, 21, was such a powerful album and it remained No. 1 in the Billboard 200 for 24 weeks, the most ever for a woman. It was an album about heartbreak, and it helped me with a lot I was going through at that time.

I’m excited to listen to more 25 tracks (the album will be out Nov. 20) and see what this is about!

My favorites from the web this week:

  1. Adele, ‘Hello’ from the new album 25,  out November 20.
  2. The City of Seattle is experiencing some mayor growth in recent times and, originally, they looked at San Francisco to follow their steps. But then they realized that SF was NOT a good model to follow, so now Seattle is trying to decide how to grow but keep its essence on the way there.
  3. I’m in love with these John Vogel chairs from West Elm. I wish I could justify the need for new dining chairs…
  4. A HUGE win for prisoners and their friends and families! It will now be easier for prisoners to communicate with their loved ones, with lower phone rates.
  5. Unfortunately for us, we still have to negotiate more than just a salary in our workplace. I am in no need for maternity leave, but do think that something desperately needs to be done to address this issue.

Weekend! I’m getting ready to fly to Argentina for a week and a half to get my visa! I’m excited because finally I’ll be able to come and go as I please, but not too excited about visiting. Don’t get me wrong, I love going back, but it’s just such a busy time visiting with friends and family, running errands, going to doctors, that it’s not really a ‘vacation’ per se. I’ll probably need a vacation after!

My favorite things from the inter webs this week:

1. This clever little girl who is helping her divorced parents be friends.

2. I know this has been everywhere, but this is exactly how millions of people feel every time they are putting together Ikea furniture.

3. Loving the Tio Table by Mass Productions.

4. I’m drooling over this Melanie Severin piece. I love the layered look, but I am never patient enough to be able to accomplish this effect in my paintings, so I outsource instead!

5. I {heart} this Ikea hack. Looking for ways to revamp my nightstand so that it’s not so ‘matchy-matchy’ with the other furniture in the room.

After a long weekend, I can never completely grasp that the first day of work is actually a Tuesday, so I spend my whole week thinking we are behind one day, but then suddenly it’s FRIYAY!

This week was a long one, with my new morning routine experiment and waiting for warranty services to take care of some things in the condo. I spent many hours navigating the webs this week. Here are my favorite things:

1. I’m in need of a cake stand for all the cake I’m anticipating I’ll be eating this fall and winter, and this DIY seems like it could do the trick.

2. I love handy cats. Benito (our ginger medium-hair kitty) is pretty handy with doors. Just like this one.

3. So, apparently, there is a new ‘site’ that allows you to share photos of homes / spaces. I joined recently and I think I like it because these are real spaces, decorated by people like you and me and not professionally photographed and what not. Maybe it will kick off? Check out at{mine}.

4. This is a little bit old, but I love the use of dark walls in the living area in this London flat.

5. Of all of the Fortune 500 companies’ CEOs, only 9 are Hispanic. Are any of these Hispanic women? #GlassCeiling

Happy weekend folks! We are hosting our first official dinner/BBQ at the condo and we are excited!

A new weekend means we are getting closer to my birthday, my favorite day of the year!

This week’s linked and loved….

1. How fun would this be?

2. Did you know that there is a company that makes slipcovers for your Ikea furniture?

3. Considering this for the living room floor, and bonus! a 75% off sale (CODE: USA75)

4. I’m totally swooning over these, especially since our new place has a decent-sized balcony. I’m looking at you, string lights and tons of pillows!

5. Also, what is the deal with Fiddle Leaf Fig trees? I’m seeing them everywhere and apparently, they are not that high maintenance.

Sunset in Seattle

It’s the weekend! Weather in Seattle is starting to get better and better. We had a heat wave earlier in the week and now temperatures have dipped a little, but it’s still nice and sunny and beautiful, just how I like it.

Check out my favorites from the web this past week:

1. Love these little bowls for summer entertaining.

2. Drooling over this recipe box from the Rifle Paper Co., very useful for our household cooking issues.

3. I may or may not have changed my master plans for our master bedroom in the condo (via Studio McGee.)

4. Art inspiration this week comes in the form of gloomy monotone watercolor prints.

5. ‘Vibrant new spaces’ are coming to Seattle!
